Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a specialised technique using advanced palpation, mobilisation and manipulation skills of muscles and joints to treat neuro-musculoskeletal disorders.
The osteopath is highly skilled at palpation (using their hands to feel for abnormalities) that helps to identify points of weakness or strain. This helps them to diagnose problem areas, treat it, prevent reoccurrence and rehabilitate.
Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and can be used to treat acute and chronic conditions such as:
- Back and Neck Pain
- Shoulder Tension
- Sports Injuries
- Aching Muscles
- Repetitive Strain Injury
- Trapped Nerves
- Chronic Pain …and many more
Osteopathy is an excellent way to heal and mend the body without the use of drugs and surgery. It also takes into account your individual needs and lifestyle to optimise the beneficial effects of the treatment.
If you have not seen our osteopath before, you will need a new patient appointment that will last 30-45 minutes. This appointment will be a chance for you to discuss your condition, raise any questions or concerns that you may have. It will also allow the osteopath to take a full medical history and examine the problem area (you will need to expose the area of the body that needs to be treated) - treatment can then begin.
Follow-up appointments are usually 20-30 minutes. The number of treatments that you may require varies depending on your condition, but on average 4-6 sessions are required.
Our Osteopath, Paola Ash, is fully qualified, and experienced. She is registered and regulated by the General Osteopathic Council
Please note that some health insurance policies will cover the cost (in full or part) of Osteopathy treatments - please check with your insurance provider for details.
