Reflexology
Reflexology is a relaxing, therapeutic treatment, involving a massage-like technique where reflex points in the feet (or hands) are stimulated.
It is believed that different parts of the feet are linked to different parts of the body, so by working on corresponding points, this can help to maintain the body’s natural well-being and/or be used to treat specific problems, aiding the healing process.
This treatment can help with many conditions including:
- Stress
- Circulation problems
- Back pain
- Pre Menstrual Tension
- Insomnia
- Digestive disorders
- Muscular pain
- Joint pain …and many more
Reflexology can benefit most people; helping to maintain good health and promoting relaxation.
The treatment is suitable for people of all ages, from children to the elderly.
Each treatment session lasts for approximately one hour, with the initial treatment taking a little longer, to allow for a medical history to be taken.
You will be expected to sit in a comfortable chair, with your feet up and the reflexologist will work on the different points in the feet. Some areas may be a little uncomfortable, but this is normal and corresponds to problem areas in the body. Generally, the treatment is very relaxing, comfortable and calming.
You can have reflexology as a one-off special treat to relieve stress and relax, or have regular sessions to help treat a specific problem.
Our Reflexologist, Ruth Murphy, is fully trained, qualified and well experienced. She is a member of the Association of Reflexologists.
